Jeerige Appe Midi
Discover the taste of Karnataka's forest heritage in every bite. Jeerige Appe Midi Pickle is made from Jeerige Midi a rare wild variety of tender baby mango prized for its naturally occurring cumin-like (jeera) aroma and tang. These small mangoes are grown in the wild rainforest areas of the Western Ghats, where the tropical climate and rich soil give them a flavour found nowhere else in the world. Unlike regular mango pickles, this variety is used solely for pickling and never eaten as a fruit making it truly one of a kind.
Raw mangoes are handpicked at the right time, cured in rock salt for 40–60 days, then blended with a traditional spice mix and aged further for deep, complex flavour that only gets better with time.
What Makes It Special:
Rare and Wild-Grown — Jeerige Midi mangoes are a rare wild variety found only in Karnataka's Western Ghats, naturally carrying a cumin-like aroma that sets this pickle apart from any other mango pickle you've tasted.
GI-Tagged Heritage — Appemidi has earned a Geographical Indication (GI) tag from among India's 1,500-odd mango varieties, recognising it as a true regional treasure.
Naturally Long-Lasting — This pickle lasts up to five to six years without any artificial preservatives. It only deepens in flavour as it ages.
Time-Honoured Recipe — Made using age-old Malnad methods with no shortcuts, no artificial flavours, and no colours.
